These are all questions and challenges I hear from women all the time....

For those of you who don't know me....I am a busy mom of three in my 40's, who used to be one of those people asking these SAME questions.

It took me over 20 years to figure out what I was missing and why simply dieting was never a permanent solution for joy and satisfaction in my life. In the process of this self-discovery, I became a Personal Trainer, Nutrition Coach, and Fat Loss Specialist - where I learned the science and process of weight loss and healthy metabolism.

However, what I knew about myself, and ultimately recognized in others as I coached them, was the need for embracing and incorporating a solid foundation in personal discovery and nurturing of much more than just the physical habits and regimes. The reality is that the physical transformation must also include a deep, inner transformation – and the two are usually not exclusive.

how I transformed my mind, body, & life:

ONE: I stopped breaking myself down.
I was trying so hard to be disciplined enough to avoid the things I wasn't supposed to do, that I ended up neglecting the nurturing of positive, lifelong habits. I had been doing it all backwards, trying to create a better body and a better life by engaging in a war of willpower and rules. This made me miserable and nothing ever really changed, except I got more frustrated and was robbed of my self-esteem and healthy self-image.

TWO: I started building a foundation with nourishment.
There are very few living things that thrive in energy-starved, stressed environments. However, I realized that was how I was trying to live in hopes of the result being a hot, strong body and happy disposition. It wasn’t adding up…so I went back to basics and ignored the scale for a time while I began creating my foundation for good health and a nourished body and soul. Here’s a few of the key things I did:

  • I ate lots of healthy foods that I enjoyed, instead of cutting calories alone.
  • I avoided going hardcore with exercise, which usually exhausted me and I could keep up with after a while – and instead committing myself to simple, but totally effective exercise that easily fit into my schedule and energized me.
  • I took time to rest and manage my perspective – fat loss can be completely sabotaged by chronic stress, so this was SO crucial.

THREE: I created my own formula.
Transforming my body became more than a set of diet rules – and because my goal was to stop the miserable cycle of always ending up back at the same place, the sustainability of the changes I made to my life was paramount. To do this, I had to get to know myself very well – and let go of what was “supposed to” work in order to embrace my own preferences, genetics, challenges, and values. I removed the idea that I could fail….and instead used my daily experiences – negative and positive - as data for helping me move forward. This influx of information was what created the best formula for me – because I could now identify, assess, and modify my nutrition, fitness, and lifestyle strategies and determine the best strategy for my long term success.

This isn't an off-the-shelf program that requires you to stick to a set of rules....After years of coaching women and developing my own signature approach to fat loss and life transformation, I have seen the difference between clients who come in motivated and connected, and those that don't. The process of true transformation depends on a strong desire to dig deeper, and to be open to new ideas.

    I work with you step by step to create a custom lifestyle strategy, with guidance towards key changes to give you the most impact towards your goal. We do not focus on getting the quickest results – this is a custom, strategic, methodical process proven to affect long-term body change and permanent lifestyle modification. Each person has unique challenges and goals, so I will cater your coaching to what you need, as well as when, and how you need it delivered.

  • unlimited, results-based communication

    Communication is key to your success and on-going progress. As your Coach, I want to hear from you and know what your struggles and successes are. Your coaching is based on individual bio-feedback, progress markers, and personal circumstances on a weekly basis. You provide the feedback requested, and I will provide you with do-able strategies to keep moving forward (or to catch you when you think you’ve had enough….)
    You also have direct access to your me via email to ask questions, voice your concerns, and to share your challenges and successes when they come up – so you get the support and encouragement you need, when you need it. I am there to give you high-fives, nudge you firmly when necessary, and to be your constant cheerleader.

  • access to additional resources & online members portal

    You get online access to additional tools and resources (worksheets, e-books, articles, recipes) to help you stay on track and organize your coaching material paperless-ly. I will also consult with you when necessary to help you determine other services and care that could be helpful or required for your health or personal growth. These references might include suggested reading, recommended lab tests, referral to practitioners, or additional specialized programs.

  • one-to-one connection

    Included in your program is one 30-minute private coaching session per week via phone or Skype for more personal communication and to build a strong coaching relationship – the better I understand you and get to know you, the more I will be able to help guide you towards your goal.

  • q-iconHow much weight can I expect to lose in this program?

    In mind | body | life coaching, there are a number of factors that come into play when it comes to weight loss goals. The reality is that each person’s body will change in unique ways, and so commonly it is not weight change itself that facilitates this alone. That is what makes this program unique – we will actively work on much more than just a change on the scale to give you the best, long term results. Often the biggest factor in how much change a person sees is how committed to the process they are – if coaching strategies are followed and consistency is practiced, then it is a likely indicator of greater success.
    For these reasons, I do not guarantee how much weight can be lost by any individual – but the average person will see a change in body composition marked by a decrease in fat and loss of pounds. The primary objective, however, is that you are set up to NOT gain it back.

  • q-iconI feel like I have a lot of work to do to achieve my transformation… what it I need more time with you?

    This program is designed as a long-term mentorship that will allow you adequate time to work with me in a methodical manner through the various stages of sustainable transformation. You may choose to continue on after your initial six months, for as long as you feel is necessary. Many people enjoy the accountability and familiarity that results, and so as your needs change over time I am more than happy to modify your program fees and set-up as you progress.

    Good question! My approach to coaching is what makes this different…I strive to get to know YOU and I come along side with you every step of the way to support you. Every person is so unique and often where we go wrong is trying to do what everyone else is doing instead of getting to know our own needs and taking the most effective action with them. Because I have been through this process myself, and I have personally experienced what it feels like to repeatedly fail at my efforts, I know exactly what you are going through and how to get to the root of changing it. I don’t want you to simply follow a set of rules and be compliant, so that I can boast that my clients lose weight the fastest….that doesn’t serve YOU in the long run…so we work together step by step to make sure your strategies are sustainable and are working for you in real life. When they aren’t, it’s not about discipline or suffering – we keep looking for what YOUR formula looks like. The goal is always to create a do-able, sustainable action plan. So, there is no possibility of failure – however, you must be willing to commit to that process and take ownership for giving feedback and moving forward.

    The best thing about online coaching is that it gives you a chance to provide your thoughts and feedback at your own pace and within your own schedule. As your Coach, I am dedicated to providing you with effective feedback and guidance that is based in both my training and my experience. I believe in kindness and encouragement as the best tools for collaboration, but I will also firmly nudge you when needed and be honest in my assessments.
    When you hire me as your Coach, we will discuss your specific expectations from me, and determine your coaching needs so that we are on the same page. So even though we may not meet in person for coaching, there is plenty of communication – both written and verbal, depending on your preferences – but mostly, there is dedication coming from both the client and coach when we commit to the coaching relationship.
